Ikpeazu
UMUAHIA—FORMER special adviser to Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State, Mr. Ben Onyechere, has described Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State, as one without rival in the coming election.
According to Onyechere, the plot to dislodge PDP in Abia State by erstwhile members of the party who lost out in the primaries is an effort in futility and all bark without bite.
He said: “The so called candidates of opposition whose only motive is to use the state as an instrument of collateral to borrow money have not told us how the option of taking Abia to opposition will attract development. It is not enough to wipe sentiments on Aba while blaming the governor, forgetting that it was because of Aba that Mbakwe shed tears.
“ It is very important to note that Aba deserves a special attention by the Federal Government because it is the business hob of the South East region and the only reason it has not been attended to is as a result of the war.
“Igbo have learnt their lessons the hard way which is the reason we can never belong to opposition in the nearest future because doing so will mean adding impetus to our marginalisation.”
