Indigenes of Akwa Ibom and Cross River states, under the aegis of Association of Akwa-Cross Indigenes Nigeria, have endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan for re-election on March 28. According to the group, the president has contributed to the development and growth of Nigeria’s democracy more than any Nigerian leader, dead or alive.
Addressing newsmen in Lagos, National President of the association, Etubom Unyime Samson, said: “We are not supporting him because he is our brother but because he has contributed to the development and growth of Nigeria’s democracy more than any Nigerian leader, dead or alive.
“We should all be honest with ourselves. President Jonathan’s government is a success, no matter its little challenges, especially insecurity, which is a global phe nomenon.
‘’When a government is doing good things we should encourage and commend it and when it is not doing the right thing, we should criticise it constructively.”
