Presidency worries over incessant attacks on Jonathan’s convoy

By Caleb Ayansina

ABUJA — The Presidency has expressed concern over the incessant attacks on President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign convoy, warning that such acts portended danger if not nibbed in the bud.

Special Adviser to the President on Intra-Party Affairs, Senator Ben Obi, told journalists, yesterday, in Abuja that the attacks on the President’s campaign train were condemnable.

“It is only an unpatriotic citizen that will not condemn such acts. It calls for outright condemnation, it calls for serious caution, because it is really a dangerous trend,” he said.

The presidential aide, who is also coordinating the adherence of political parties to the peace accord recently signed in Abuja by political parties, said under no circumstances should the President be harmed in any part of the country.

Obi said: “The President’s convoy should not be attacked anywhere in the country, be it village or city. It is condemnable for the president to be attacked.”
