Ooni tasks communities on peace

OSOGBO—The Ooni of Ife,Oba Okunade Sijuade Olubuse11 has called on the people of Ipetumodu and Asipa to embrace peace and live harmoniously.

The monarch made the call yesterday in his Palace when he played host to the Justice Falola Judicial Commission of Inquiry on the Ipetumodu and Asipa communal dispute.

Oba Okunade expressed his belief that the Commission is capable of finding a lasting solution to the communal dispute in the two warring communities of Osun State . He then commended the commission for the visit to the palace.

The Chairman of the Commission, Justice Jide Falola solicited the monarch’s royal support, advice and blessing in the discharge of the duty of finding a lasting solution to communal disputes in the state.

Justice Falola explained that government of the State has observed that communal dispute has become a common phenomenon that must be tackled.

The people of the two communities recently took up arms against one another over a disputed parcel of land leading to the destruction of properties.
