Getting the national electronic identification cards to every Nigerian and those legitimately living in the country without hassles, appears to be the primary target of the National Identity Management Commission NIMC.

This is evident in the way the commission opens collection centres for the e-ID Cards. Just recently, the commission, announced the establishment of card collection centres in all of its state offices nationwide, saying it was mainly to improve the rate of card collection nationwide. Meanwhile, there are also indications that plans are underway to open similar card collection centres in all the Local Government Areas, LGAs in the country.

General Manager, Corporate Communications, NIMC, Mr. Abdulhamid Umar said efforts are being made to ensure massive distribution of the cards to the Card Collection Centres, with a view to also issuing the cards to Nigerians in the rural areas as directed by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
