ABUJA—National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Thursday endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan as their preferred candidate for the March 28 presidential election.

The National President of NANS, Comrade Tijani Usman made the confirmation at a one-day National Student’s Association Rally in Abuja.

Usman said that the decision to back President Jonathan was borne out of the conviction of the President’s achievements that touched on the lives of the students and youths of the country.

He said: ‘’We are supporting President Jonathan because he is the first president ever to have released about N200 billion at a one full swoop to the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASSU, for the overall uplifting and development of the universities. He similarly established more than 24 new universities across the country. He has also set up 124 Almajiri schools for our brothers in the northern part of country.”
