Warri Wolves take on two players during the Super Four in Ijebu Ode.
An aspirant to the Oyo State Football Association Chairmanship position, Mr Babatunde Oloyede has unfolded his plans, if elected.
Oloyede, a former Secretary of the Oyo FA and international competitions manager, outlined his plans in a speech to stakeholders at the weekend.
The Oyo FA election is billed to hold in Ibadan tomorrow.
Oloyede listed the plan as including bringing back the old glory recorded by clubs in the state including Shooting Stars Football Club and Crown of Ogbomoso, provision of quality leadership and improving the welfare of the workforce.
Oloyede said: ”I promise to work with the Oyo State Government to legislate on football at the grassroots and to seek private and corporate partnerships for all football related activities and running of this great institution in Oyo State.
“God willing the lost glory of hosting international matches in Oyo State will be a thing of the past.”
As one of the principal officers that worked effectively with Shooting Stars Sports Club between 1997 and 2000 and also in 1999 when we played in African Club Championship which happens to be our last International competition to date, and also as one of the stakeholders that immensely ensured the promotion to the professional Club- side in 1997 of Crown Football Club of Ogbomosho, I will work tirelessly with appropriate bodies and associations to ensure that the euphoria we derived from our darling football teams participating in International competitions comes back to Oyo State within the shortest possible period when I come into Office.”
A vastly experienced administrator, Oloyede was secretary of the Oyo FA between 1992 and 1998. He was the administrative secretary of the Shooting Stars Football Club between 1997 and 2000. He was CAF Competition manager at the eighth All Africa Games in 2003 and FIFA competition manager during the Under 17 male World Cup Championship in 2009.
He was a member of Nigeria Football Federation Disciplinary Committee between 2007 and 2010 and also as a member of the Nigeria Football Federation Electoral Committee.
