ENUGU — Men of the Special Anti-Robbrey Squad, SARS, Enugu Police Command, yesterday, arrested one Eko Goddey, a.k.a Warrior, who hails from Uyi-Ette in Olamobara Local Government Area of Kogi State over alleged killing of Gabriel Apula, his cousin.
The deceased allegedly died following the injuries allegedly inflicted on him by the suspect over land tussle which had claimed lives in border communities of Enugu and Kogi states.
Police spokesperson, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, said: “The suspect and his gang members tied the victim’s legs, roasted him and set some houses ablaze.
“Our operatives, through intelligence report, swooped on them at their hideout in Eteh and arrested the suspect.
“The Police are on the trail of other fleeing members of the gang. The suspect is largely responsible for the burning of 47 houses during the communal land clash between border communities of Eteh in Enugu and Kogi states.
“Items recovered from the suspect’s hideout include a locally made single barrel short gun and a locally made single barrel rifle with two cartridges.
“The command is appealing to members of the public to report any person seen with gun shot wound to the nearest Police station.”
