WARRI—Lawyer and public affairs commentator, Jesutega Onokpasa has alleged a threat to his life by an unknown person working for one of the governorship candidates in the Delta State.

Addressing newsmen in Warri, yesterday, Onokpasa said he was called twice by one of the supporters of the governorship candidate, who called with the phone number 08100938433, asking him (Onokpasa), if he was the one who wrote an article against the governorship candidate published in one of the national dailies.

He said: “When I told the caller that I was the one who wrote the article, he responded by saying, ‘who do you think you are? We are coming for you. Watch your back. You are already a dead man. We will finish you. You are a goner.”

Disclosing that he is already forwarding detailed petitions to the Department of State Services, DSS, as well as the Inspector General of Police and the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Onokpasa said: “When has it become proper for the supporters of the candidate to now be issuing death threats to genuine Urhobo sons committed to rescuing Delta State from sixteen years of PDP misrule.”
