Traditional rulers in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State have extolled the achievements of the state governor, Senator Liyel Imoke. Speaking at an interactive session with the PDP campaign train after its campaign rally in Okundi, the Paramount Ruler, His Royal Highness, Chief Fredaline Akando, warned that it would amount to ingratitude if his subjects failed to queue behind the Peoples Democracy Party, PDP, in the forthcoming general elections.
He said: “It will be disastrous and amounting to ingratitude if we should vote for any other party in the state in the February elections except PDP because it has drastically transformed this area under the leadership of Governor Imoke.
“Imoke is the best thing that has happened to Cross River and particularly Boki in recent past. The infrastructures spread across the area are as a result of Imoke’s kind heart, as he decided to focus on rural transformation since his assumption of office which today has improved the area in terms of development.”
Responding, Governor Imoke said the team was in Boki because “We don’t want to take our people for granted as we believe very strongly that each time we need your people’s votes or support, we must come and ask for them.”
