Chairman of Ogidigben 21-member Export Processing Zone, EPZ Interface Committee, Delta State, Mr Austin Oboroegbeyi, has reiterated that the take-off of the multi-billion dollar gas project has great potential of improving the nation’s revenue base, adding that when fully operational, the project would not only galvanize economic growth but also translate to technological development of the country.

Oboroegbeyi in a chat with newsmen in Warri, yesterday, noted that the gas project will impact positively on the socio-economic well-being of all Nigerians irrespective of tribe, religion, culture or political differences when it comes on stream contrary to the speculation that it would only serve the interest of the ethnic group where it’s been sited.

He stressed that this was why the committee made it a point of duty to accommodate diverse views and interests in making certain recommendations concerning the project.

He noted that with the commitment of President Goodluck Jonathan to set up the gas project, the much awaited industrialization of the country had commenced, adding that with an effective gas project, the nation’s power generation will be boosted to a level where power outages would reduce drastically to allow for the growth of small scales businesses that will grow the economy.

Oboroegbeyi called on all and sundry to join hands with the Federal Government to make the gas project a success and enjoined those working against the project to have a rethink in the interest of the generality of Nigerians, who stand to gain from the project.
