KADUNA—Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State, has appointed a 19-member ad hoc committee on the disbursement of the N3 billion released by the Federal Government as assistance to victims of the 2011 post presidential election violence in the state.

The state government had earlier in January 2013 disbursed N410 million to the victims.

A statement signed by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mallam Ahmed Maiyaki, stated that the committee would disburse/ distribute such assistance to victims of the election violence with particular reference to properties destroyed.

The committee which had three weeks to complete its assignment has the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet and Security Affairs as chairman. Others include top government officials and representatives of religious organizations and professional unions.
