Nigerians need explanation over botched ceasefire

Meantime, the APCPCO has criticised the Presidency for its refusal to explain what transpired in the collapse of the ceasefire deal with Boko Haram terrorists.

It accused the Presidency of keeping sealed lips over the failed truce despite repeated reports that the ceasefire deal would take effect immediately.

APCPCO said: “Accountability is the dividing line between a dictatorship and a democratic government, but the Jonathan administration is behaving as if it owes Nigerians no explanations over the failed ceasefire deal.

“On October 17, 2014, the Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh excitedly told the nation that a ceasefire deal had been reached with Boko Haram, which also included   the release of the Chibok girls within a week.
