Acting President Goodluck Jonathan
lagos—A group,Goodluck Lagos Grassroot Project Mobilisers, has said that President Goodluck Jonathan will defeat the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), in the February general election based on record of performance.
The group said this at a press conference it addressed in Lagos, saying that Jonathan, from its findings and efforts it had put together, would secure 75 per cent of votes in the state, even as it declared that those backing Buhari in the Lagos APC were only doing so in order to take over control of the nation’s resources as they had done in the state.
According to the vice chairman of the group, Mr Taiwo Akinfolami, “We know the godfathers of Buhari whose Lagos resources are in their hands. They want the resources of Nigeria to be in their hands and they would fail.”
The publicity secretary of the group, Mr Sunday Olaifa, who also spoke at the news conference, said the group had decided to work for the re-election of President Jonathan based on his numerous achievements, disclosing that his group would do anything humanly possible towards re-electing the president in February poll.
