UMUAHIA — GOVERNOR Theodore Orji of Abia State, has urged Nigerians to appreciate members of Nigerian armed forces for ensuring the peace and unity of the country.

Orji: In the valley of decision

Speaking at an inter- denominational thanksgiving service at the St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Ohokobe Ndume, to mark the 2015 Armed Forces and Remembrance Day celebration, Governor Orji said the contributions of the armed forces to the development of the state and the country in general could not be over-emphasised.

The governor noted that despite criticisms, the Nigerian armed forces had done well in fighting Boko Haram, saying that they needed to be encouraged and supported.

According to him, one of his greatest achievements in the state was restoring security and peace in Abia, arguing that security was very essential for the development of the polity.
