Our members don’t even have PVCs—PDP

ENUGU—All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of conniving with Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to hoard Permanent Voter’s Cards, PVCs, in Enugu State.

The party claimed that PDP officials in the state had, in collaboration with INEC officials, collected bulk PVCs in some local government areas, with the aim of rigging next month’s elections.

While inaugurating the OJ Support Group of the party to sensitize the electorate on the need to vote APC, governorship candidate of the party, Mr. Okey Ezea, said: “Most of our members have reported cases where they were directed to collect their PVCs from PDP officials in their wards.

“The evidence abound in Igbo South council area. APC members went to INEC for the collection. INEC gave them phone numbers of people who later turned out to be PDP officials from whom they will collect their PVCs. The aim is to reduce APC voting strength.”

However, reacting to the allegation, PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr. Okey Ezea, said: “We in PDP are crying to the high heavens that we do not have PVCs. How can we then collude with INEC to horde same?”
