Yenagoa— Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has reaffirmed his support and commitment to the re-election project of President Goodluck Jonathan in next month’s election.

Speaking against the backdrop of insinuations that some political appointees were recently dropped because of a rift with the President, Dickson, in a statement in Yenagoa, said that as the leader of the government and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Bayelsa State, he personally mobilised women and youth groups from all parts the state and also led the state delegation to the traditional marriage of the President’s niece at Otuoke over the weekend.

He cautioned politicians in the state to eschew subversive and divisive tendencies, capable of threatening the existing peaceful, harmonious, united and conducive environment the restoration government had worked hard to put in place, that has also ushered in rapid and massive development in the state.

The warning is coming on the heels of recent actions by some politicians to promote the politics of disaffection and divisions in the state.

The statement berated politicians, led by a former deputy governor of the state and their cohorts for creating divisions among the women, mostly to serve their own selfish interests and personal aggrandizement other than the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN.
