LAGOS—Claims published online that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is a Muslim Brotherhood member has been debunked by a group in support of Gen. Muhamadu Buhari’s candidacy.

Speaking in Lagos, Lagos State Coordinator of the body known as Buhari Vanguard, Mr. Pade Ojoodide, describe the claim as malicious and in bad taste.

Ojoodide said that the message is intended to poison the minds of Nigerians and that it is encumbered with the spirit of error, saying, “The message going round both on the internet, video and magazine that the APC has a link with the Muslim Brotherhood is a fallacy.

“It is dangerous to steer up Christians against their fellow Nigerians who are Muslims.

“Claiming that APC has sympathy for the Muslim Brotherhood is heresy because the APC chairman, John Oyegun is a Christian like several others in the party. What they are trying to sell to the Christendom can best be described as poison.

“Buhari is a man of integrity that was not corrupt when he was head of state and even till date, within 20 months of his leadership there was a turnaround, currency was changed within two weeks and people who stocked capital in their houses suffered for it.

“During his tenure, there was discipline, as Head of State, he worked his talk. If he has not Islamised the country then, is it now that we are in the era of democracy that such things would happen.’’
