By Dapo Akinrefon

ABEOKUTA—THE Senator Ibikunle Amosun Campaign Organisation, SIACO, has accused opposition political parties of allegedly purchasing Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, saying it is a desperate attempt to manipulate the February general elections.

Condemning the action by the opposition, SIACO said the move is capable of disenfranchising the people of Ogun State during the elections.

In a statement by Chairman, Media and Publicity Committee, Femi Sowoolu, the organisation said the purchase of the PVCs was illegal and has the potentials for compromising the electoral process. According to the organisation, the move is equally a provocative act capable of undermining the freedom of choice of the voters.

It, however, called on security agencies to investigate the act and bring the perpetrators to book saying “that is the only thing that can ensure we have a credible, peaceful and free elections in our state.”
