Abia govt, APGA gov candidate in war of words

Umuahia—AHEAD of the February 28 governorship election, Abia State government and governorship candidate of opposition All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Dr. Alex Otti, yesterday, engaged in accusations and counter-accusations of threats, intimidations, falsehood, among other antics, aimed at gaining electoral advantage.

While the Abia State Government accused the APGA governorship candidate of fabricating alleged all manner of white lies against the state government because of his governorship ambition, the APGA ‘s candidate through Alex Otti Campaign Organisation, AOCO, alleged plans by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State to arrest all door-to-door volunteers soliciting for votes and support for the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, governorship flag-bearer.

The campaign organisation said it did not know when it has become a crime to ask for the personal details of prospective voters in a bid to forge a bond with them before elections.
