Bauchi—A former Comptroller of Customs, Alhaji Ali Wakili yesterday emerged as the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the Bauchi South Senatorial District seat in 2015.
Wakili will slug it out with Governor Isa Yuguda who got the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ticket for the senatorial district.
The former Customs boss scored 1,464 votes to beat his closest rival and former Bauchi State deputy governorship candidate on the platform of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, during the 2011 general elections, Abdullahi Matori who polled 153, with one Mr Lawal who got 140 votes.
