OWERRI — Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, has said training and retraining of its personnel is a fundamental factor in the realization of its constitutional assignment.
Comptroller General, Mr. D. S. Parradang, spoke during the passing-out of graduates of the 19th inspectorate course at the Immigration Training School, Umuowa, Orlu Local Council Area of Imo State.
Parradang said the successful pass-out of the trainees was a demonstration of the establishment’s commitment to manpower development.
He commended the graduates for exhibiting what he termed “a high sense of discipline and endurance,” while undergoing the training.
While describing them as “worthy ambassadors of the Service,” Mr. Parradang also urged them to key into the agenda of repositioning of the NIS, to enable it compete favourably with any of its counterparts anywhere in the world.
Speaking, the member representing Orlu in Imo State House of Assembly, Mr. Mike Ndubuaku, said the peaceful disposition exhibited by the trainees throughout their stay in the school, was very commendable.
