De-clutter
Anything you have not used for a year, you don’t like or doesn’t work should be shown the way out of your home. You can donate them to some places or give them out to those who would find them very useful.
Sweep hard-to-reach corners
You of course know those hard-to-reach corners in your home. You’ve swept and mopped through the year without letting your tools kiss them, but this is one time you cannot resist them. Cleaning up hard-to-reach corners bring a fresh, new feel to your home. Above all, you’re sure to be ridding your home of unpleasant smells when you touch those corners.
Wash dirty clothes, clean kitchen
Get those dirty curtains, bed sheets and clothes out and wash them before entering the New Year. Also clean up kitchen utensils. You can try mopping floors and ridding household appliances of dusts as well. However fagged the terrible traffic jam in major cities across the country has made you this season, try not to enter the New Year with dirty stuffs stuck in your home. If you’re too busy, assign or pay somebody to handle them.
Replace old stuffs
You’ve de-cluttered old stuffs, remember. Now, is a great time to replace those outdated household properties with new, modern ones. The coming of a New Year is notable for bringing great inspiration for new appliances, particularly as showrooms and online stores are giving away wonderful products with mouth-watering discounts this season.
Paint walls
The most dramatic way to change a room is through new paint colours. A strategically chosen colour can transform a room, making it appear like a total renovation has taken place. As a guide, you can take samples of dominant fabrics present in the room to the paint shop. These can be cushion, arm covers or leftover fabrics. But in the absence of these, you can take a picture of your room with your mobile phone to show to them at the paint shop if you haven’t consulted an interior decorator.
