The governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Mr. Dakuku Peterside, has called on candidates of other political parties contesting the 2015 general elections to stick to issue-based campaigns rather than resorting to mud slinging and derogatory comments.
He also asked Nigerians and APC supporters to unite and ensure that they reject candidates who have no programme for Rivers State at the forthcoming polls.
Peterside, at the grand finale of Rivers State Annual Cultural Festival, known as CARNIRIV, in Port Harcourt, also asked APC supporters to unite and work together ahead of the 2015 polls.
He represented Governor Rotimi Amaechi at the event.
He said: “If we don’t work together, some other persons who are interested in pursuing their selfish interests other than service, those who are interested in the state’s purse, those who intend to come and destroy our heritage and endanger our future, will want to take over. So, we must not allow them to mortgage our children’s future.”
