PDP gov ticket: Ararume, Ihediora close ranks in Imo

AFTER weeks of feuding, gladiators in the recently concluded Imo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries are to sheathe their swords and work for the victory of the party in the state in the 2015 polls.

The concluded PDP primaries saw the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha emerging as the winner and Senator Ifeanyi Ararume coming closely second has thrown up a somewhat bitter aftermath as Ihedioha and Ararume squared up against each other.

Yesterday, however, feelers from both camps and the National and Imo state PDP indicated a truce and a decision to work for the greater good of Imo PDP.

“We have moved on. Ararume and Ihedioha are close to burying their differences for the common good of the PDP”, a top chieftain of the PDP in Imo State explained.

A member of the Ararume campaign team refused to openly confirm or deny the development but asked for time for “everything to unfold.” Ararume, a traditional PDP loyalist though embittered by what his supporters see as a hard one on him, may have yielded to the arguments canvassed by fellow party members and The Presidency to team up with Ihedioha and ensure the victory of the PDP in Imo State in February, 2015.
