A group, Okpe Youth Vanguard, has flayed the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, for overreaching itself in the recent primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State. It urged the group to sheath its sword against the party in the interest of the ethnic group.
The group, in a statement by its General Coordinator, Mr. Kingsley Akpederin, yesterday urged UPU to identify leading lights of the Urhobo nation, who worked with the victorious PDP candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, so as to push the interest of the Urhobo nation.
Among those identified as principal characters who protected the interest of the Urhobo nation during the PDP primaries were former Minister of Information, Chief Sam Oyovbaire and majority leader in the House of Assembly, Chief Monday Igbuya.
