Jonathan’s failure to declare 3-day mourning over Kano blast wicked-Obadan

By SIMON EBEGBULEM

BENIN CITY-FORMER Deputy Governor of Edo state, Rev.Peter Obadan and the Afemai Heritage and Cultural Studies, Wednesday described as wicked, President Goodluck Jonathan’s failure to declare three days of national mourning, in honour of those who died in the Kano mosque attack.

While Obadan said the alleged refusal by the President and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to postpone their party primaries in honour of the dead as inhuman, the Afemai Heritage led by Alhaji Usman Abuda said the alleged insensitivity of the President may eventually lead to chaos ahead the 2015 general elections.

Obadan who also is a chieftain of the APC IN Edo state said, “If President Jonathan is touched by the Kano cataclysm he should have declared three days of national mourning. O beautiful Nigeria behold the misrule of PDP. When the wicked rule the people mourn. Are we not mourning? A part in government could not afford to postpone her primaries to honour the dead but APC has because APC has a human face and touched by feelings of the masses”.

On his part,“President Jonathan ought to demonstrate a sense of leadership that all is not well with us. Going about as if all is well shows the slippery attitude of his un-seriousness as the head of state. All political activities by him should stop as this would tell the world that he is concerned. What sense of signal is he showing that his country is flaming up gradually? His aides are holding parties all over the place. Are we really humanistic?
