The Ijaw Transparency and Development Group, ITDG, has suggested the presentation of Mr George Timinimi as the running mate to Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Delta State for the 2015 general elections.
In a statement Sunday, ITDG said Timinimi remains the most qualified and trustworthy Ijaw son to be the running mate to Okowa, considering his political experience and contributions to the development of Ijaw nation.
“Timinimi was former Vice Chairman of Warri South West Local Government Area, Special Assistant on Community Matters to Chief James Ibori, former governor of Delta State, Chairman, Gbaramatu Development Committee GDC, member of Delta State Transition Committee in 2007, Chairman of Delta Waterways Security Committee, and Commissioner for Water Resources and Development.
“Timinimi was appointed Chairman and member of the Presidential Committee on Peace and Conflict Resolution in Niger Delta by President Goodluck Jonathan when he was Vice President. Timinimi is a leader to several organisations including Gbaramatu-Egbema-Ogulagha Coastal Communities Front,” the group said.
