OWERRI — Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, has expressed satisfaction over “the peaceful, credible and transparent conduct” of the state Assembly primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Imo State.
Chief Ihedioha, who spoke to Vanguard, said “the democratic conduct of the election, is a signpost of the readiness of the transformed and rejuvenated PDP to sack the lacklustre All Progressives Congress, APC, led government in Imo State and consolidate the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.”
While congratulating the winners of the state Assembly primaries across the 27 local council areas of the state, the Deputy Speaker also commended the leadership of the party and its delegates for conducting the primaries, strictly in accordance with the party guidelines.
“I urge our brothers and sisters, who lost the party primaries to accept the outcome as the wish of the people and close ranks with the successful candidates, with a view to ensuring early and adequate preparation for the bigger task of winning the general elections in 2015,” Chief Ihedioha pleaded.
The Deputy Speaker, who is a governorship aspirant in the state, charged the PDP leadership, delegates and stakeholders of the party to replicate the strides achieved during the state Assembly primary for the House of Representatives, senatorial and governorship primaries scheduled to hold soon in the state.
