WARRI—THE management of Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, FUPRE, Delta State, has denied reports of an internal crisis rocking the institution over funds purportedly donated to it by the National Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy, NEEDS.
In a statement by its acting Registrar, Mr. Amiso Isiowuari, the school yesterday, said: “At no time was there fighting or crisis in the University or any imbroglio between the management and the Governing Council over NEEDS fund.
“It is believed that the orchestrated crisis is crafted out of the figment of the imagination of sponsors who thrive in initiating evil machinations.”
The university denied claims that the Vice-Chancellor of FUPRE, Prof. John Etu-Efeotor had been forced out of office, clarifying that he was rather on medical vacation.
