All is now set for the 14th edition of Miss Niger Delta Peace Cultural Pageant being hosted by Bayelsa state.
The cultural pageant is scheduled to hold on Saturday the 20th of December 2014 at the Dr. Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, south-south Nigeria.
22 contestants from the nine states in the Niger Delta ; Imo, Abia, Delta, Edo, Cross River, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Ondo and Bayelsa State, are already in camp in preparation for the December 20th grand finale.
The Miss Niger Delta Peace Cultural Pageant started in 1999 and has produced 13 beauty queens who are using their positions and offices as role models of change and young ambassadors of peace and development in the Niger Delta to touch lives positively in the region.
The event and post-event pet project activities are carried out centrally with the noble objective of promoting peace, socio-cultural integration, re-orientation of values, skills development, empowerment and sustainable development. The event is not just about fanfare of crowning beauty queens but one event with a purpose that has brought about positive transformation, especially among the youths in the region
The 2014 edition of the show has been packaged to attract the cream de la cream in the society and will feature side attractions and appearances like Harrysong, Gordons, Jaywon, Lady IB, and indigenous cultural and music performances to project the region as one with a rich cultural heritage.
