Gusau—The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, has accused the state government of insensibility in the handling of the problems of rustlers killing herdsmen and farmers in the state.
This is coming barely a week after the killing of over 50 people including seven soldiers at Lilo town in Gusau Local Government Area of the state by rustlers who were retaliating the killing of their colleagues in the area.
A statement signed by APGA’s governorship aspirant in the state, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi said the menace should be tackled once and for all.
Shinkafi said: “I am therefore calling on the government of the state to as a matter of fact, think twice and do something to protect its people with whose mandate it occupies the exalted seat of the governor. I am also advising Governor Abdulaziz Yari to cut down on his foreign trips and open its doors to the people, because we are in democracy.”
The statement described as unfortunate, a situation, whereby the state, which was formally one of the most peaceful in the country, had turned to be the most dangerous under the leadership of the All Progressives Alliance, APC, adding that everything possible must be done to ensure peace in the area.
