APC: Buhari’s donation, registration scratch card flood convention

The Donation and Registration Scratch Card of the former head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday flooded Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, venue of the 3rd National Convention of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Both cards, our correspondent learned were  produced by a group of youth organisations, aimed at raising fund for Buhari, one of the five Presidential Aspirant seeking to be the APC standard bearer for the 2015 Presidential election.

Explaining the purpose of the cards, one of the initiator who identified himself as Mr. Yusuf, said that the donation Scratch Card which ranges between N100 and N500, would allow everyone to contribute to the fund.

On the registration Scratch Card,  he opined that registration card afford one the opportunity to be the campaign representative in his ward before, during and after the election.

Yusuf said “all you need to do is scratch the card and send a Short Messages, SMS to the phone numbers behind the cards which are : 0811  454 8404; Glo, 0802 965 5457; Airtel, 0818 652 6218; Etisalat and 0706 438 0921; MTN.

He added that a website has been created to also provide information and other assistance for everyone.

However, delegates for the convention were yet to complete their verification exercise.

Earlier, the chairman of the convention, Dr. Kayode Fayemi while explaining the process, said that each of the delegates were either statutory or non-statutory delegates.

According to him, “the statutory delegates, were persons who qualified as delegates based on the post they held in the past and present. And these, added to those who were elected to represent the 774 local governments at the last ward congress.”

At 6:00 pm, delegates were still at the verification booth, completing their exercise.
