The national chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and the senatorial candidate of the party for Anambra Central, Chief Victor Umeh has vowed to take every available legal measure to stop the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from presenting multiple candidates in the 2015 general elections in the state.

This came as another political party, the Progressives Peoples Alliance, PPA, also at the weekend, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, not to allow any political party to go into the election with multiple candidates, as PDP had done in the past.

At the recently concluded party primaries in Anambra State, almost all the PDP aspirants that participated in the primaries for the senate declared themselves winners and each of them has been campaigning for the 2015 election as candidates.

For instance, in Anambra Central, Senator Annie Okonkwo, Mrs. Uche Ekwunife, Dr. Obiorah Okonkwo and Chief Sylvester Okonkwo are all claiming victories at the primaries, while in Anambra North, Mrs. Stella Oduah, Chief John Emeka and Senator Margery Okadigbo are claiming to be the rightful candidates.

Also in Anambra South, Senator Andy Uba and his younger brother, Chief Chris Uba, the self acclaimed godfather of Anambra politics, have been telling people in the zone that they were the candidates of PDP, just as Chief Chuma Nzeribe is making the same claim in Ihiala area of the zone.

Worried by the development, Umeh said weekend that the people of Anambra State would not be deceived again by PDP, warning the party to present a candidate or risk being disqualified to participate in the 2015 election in Anambra State.

Addressing reporters after being installed the Ikemba of Aguluzoigbo, his community, Umeh recalled that PDP had gotten away with such antics in the past with many people posing as PDP candidates on Election Day and asked voters to just vote PDP as who would eventually represent the party would be sorted out after the election.
