2015: Aggrieved Osun APC assembly aspirants retrace steps

OSOGBO— Contrary to the insinuation that the processes leading to the emergence of candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, were trailed with irregularities, which may tear the party, some aggrieved aspirants have agreed to shelve their personal interest for the party’s interest to ensure it gets victory at the 2015 elections.

Following way by which candidates of the party were adopted to contest elections into the State House of Assembly, the House of Representatives and the Senate, many keen political observers had predicted a woeful tide for the party, owing the number of aggrieved members.

After the primaries, when the Chairman of APC in the state, Prince Gboyega Famoodun, announced the results, most of the aspirants currently serving lost out at the elections, and so would not return in 2015.

Of all the affected incumbents, the case of Hon. Femi Fafiyebi representing Obokun and Ilesa State Constituencies in the Osun State House of Assembly stands out, as he was said to have congratulated Bosun Oyintiloye, a new entrant, who was announced as the party’s candidate.

Fafiyebi in the spirit of unity, was said to have held a meeting with his supporters, in his Otan-Ile residence, where he pleaded that the party’s interest should supersede personal interest.

Addressing the aggrieved members of the party and his lovers, Fafiyebi, who however presented 10 Flatron Flat TV to all youths leaders in the local government, urged the aggrieved members to support Oyintiloye, assuring that he would deliver good representation.

He noted that he had represented the constituency for two consecutive terms, adding that Oyintiloye and his people in Ibokun had since been supporting him.

Speaking on behalf of the aggrieved members, the youth leader of APC in Obokun Local Government, Niran Owolabi, promised to ensure that Oyintiloye emerge victorious in the coming election. He commended Fafiyebi for his intervention and love for the party, saying “Fafiyebi is truly a good and dedicated member of the party who loves the party than his personal ambition. He explained that Fafiyebi has empowered people especially the youth, and urged Oyintiloye to build on the good legacy left by Fafiyebi.

Also, Alhaji Busari Fatomide, an APC leader in Obokun Local Government, described Fafiyebi as a visionary leader who always keeps to his promise.

He explained that Fafiyebi ensured good living of the people despite the meagre allocation to the state and urged the people to, in the interest of the party and intervention of Fafiyebi, support the candidate of the party and ensure his victory.
