ASABA—GOVERNORSHIP aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, yesterday boasted that the incumbent governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, would hand over to him in 2015.

He also said his political profile, ranked him better than other aspirants in the race.

Okowa spoke in Asaba, at the formal declaration of his ambition to govern the state.

Those in attendance included Prof Sam Iyovbaire; former Information Minister.  Chief Wlliams Ibori, Chief Bayo Esenebe; former Chairman of Delta PDP, Chief  Ovie Agas, Chief Emmanuel Ogidi; ex chairman of Delta PDP,

Agasa, Chief A. Okpakpor, Chief Ochonogor Ossai, Mr. Michael Diden among others.

Okowa said: “I was the Director General of Uduaghan Campaign Organisation. He is my friend. Our governor  will handover to me because he is my friend, brother and boss. No matter what we hear, he is for me and remains my friend. At the end of my tenure as governor, Delta state will be one in which there are gainful employment opportunities, a flourishing agriculture and agricultural business sector, effective health and educational systems and renewed urban infrastructure and security that would enhance continued economic growth and the prosperity of all Deltans.

“No one can doubt my deep knowledge and commitment to my people of Delta State, to all the communities, the aspirations of the people and the tremendous challanges facing us.”

In his remarks Oyovbaire said: “If you look aroond you will see people from all the ethic nationalities in the state. If the gathering is to be broken down into age brackets, you will see that every age grade is represented. The Okowa project has been put together by all Deltans. I am very confident, that Okowa as governor will lead our people well. He is the only aspirant that I know is at home with all the tribes in this state.”
