Mobolaji Johnson wants Gen Adekunle immortalised

Lagos—The first military Governor of Lagos State, retired Brig.-Gen. Mobolaji Johnson, on Thursday called for the immortalisation of the late Brig. Gen. Benjamin Adekunle.

Johnson made the call in an interview in Lagos at the lying-in-state of the late Adekunle, famously known as the “Black Scorpion“ because of his exploits during the Nigerian Civil War.

The former governor said at the Abalti Barracks, where the ceremony took place, that the deceased had left an unforgettable development in the nation’s history.
He said: “People like Adekunle don’t come twice in the lifetime of a nation; he played his part and he will be remembered for a long time.

“If they write the history of Nigeria and talk about the civil war, you can’t but talk about Adekunle.”
