Abuja—AHEAD of the 2015 general elections, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development is set to commence the development of a national database on all women political aspirants, with a view to throwing its weight behind them.
Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Zainab Maina, disclosed this yesterday in Abuja in a statement by the ministry’s Chief Press Secretary, Saghir el-Mohammed.
She stated that the database would enable the ministry effectively plan and monitor the progress of female political aspirants and take concrete steps to build their capacities for the elections.
The Minister said: “I wish to call on our men, who are our fathers, uncles, husbands and brothers, to please give us a chance. All we are asking for is a level-playing field and your support to be part of the project.”
