The Head of Service of Lagos State, Mrs Seyi Williams, has commended missionary schools in the state for living up to expectation and keying into the vision of the state government, which returned the schools to former owners over a decade ago.

Mrs Williams, who gave an address as Chairman at the Speech and Prize Giving Day of Methodist Girls High School, MGHS, Yaba, disclosed that she was impressed that “the management is restoring the moral and academic standards for which this oldest girls’ school in Nigeria was known.”

The HOS, an old girl of MGHS, commended what she described as transformation of the school since its return to the Methodist mission, adding that “no government can shoulder the responsibility of providing education for all its citizens without the participation of all relevant stakeholders.”
