A former gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State, Engineer Zakari Inuwa, says the crisis of insecurity in the North will not threaten the 2015 general elections in the country.
He said northerners were ready for the elections and have vowed to see to the success.
“I do not see any threat to the 2015 general elections now and even in the future especially with what I saw in Zamfara State during the local government congresses of the PDP which I conducted recently,” he remarked. Zakari, who was the Chairman of the Congress Appeal Panel which conducted the local government congresses of the PDP in Zamfara, also predicted victory for the party in the state in the 2015 elections.
Besides clinching the state from the All Progressive Congress (APC), he assured victory for the PDP in the presidential election next year. The former gubernatorial aspirant said the people of the state were more united and ready to clinch power from the APC in the general elections next year.
He said besides the success of the local government congresses, his panel took time out to listen to the grievances of the party members from all wards in the state and were resolved amicably.
“The amicable settlement of the political differences among the electorate paved way for the successful conduct of the local government congresses that led to the emergence of new
party officials in the state,”Zakari stated.
