Bubbly and youthful gospel artiste Pastor Jimmy Odukoya who pastors the youth arm of The Fountain of Life Church led by his father Pastor Taiwo Odukoya has revealed in a chat with Showtime that gospel artistes are not living up to their potentials.

According to him:”Absolutely not! I think that the gospel music industry is a group of people with a lot of potential energy that hasn’t been converted to kinetic.

If you look at the secular industry even with all their flaws what you will find is that there is synergy, there is unity and they do things the right way.

You will never see a Wizkid drop an album the same day an Ice Prince is dropping an album because they will split the crowd.

I also think our focus is myopic and we are very narrow minded. We determine our influence by the amount of churches we minister in, while our secular counter parts are influencing countries and continents. We have been called to reach the world .

I keep saying this, you can only be a light in darkness. You can’t be light in light. The focus should be the world but we have ostracized and segregated the very people we are called to serve” he advised.
