ASABA—CHAIRMAN of Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC, Mr. Moses Ogbe, yesterday, said that there was no going back on the October 25, 2014 local government elections in the state.

Speaking during a one-day workshop organised for journalists in the state, Ogbe said that materials for the election were being received and names of candidates for the polls had reached the commission.

Disclosing that ballot boxes for the elections had been received by the commission, he said that the printing of the ballot papers were at an advanced stage, adding: “In two weeks, we would have completed the process of printing the voters’ register. “

According to him, persons of high repute would be recruited as adhoc staff by the commission to assist in the elections, noting that applications had been received from interested candidates who want to work in that capacity.
