ENUGU—Enugu State professionals, operating on the platform of Enugu Professional Forum, EPF, have thrown their weight behind the senatorial ambitions of Governor Sullivan Chime and his Chief of Staff, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo.

Rising from its monthly meeting yesterday in Enugu, the EPF, in a communiqué signed by interim President, Nebechi Ugo and Secretary, Tony Ugwu, also approved the processes that led to the emergence of Mr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as the consensus candidate of the  PDP for next year’s governorship election in Enugu State.

The group said both Chime and Nwobodo earned its endorsement due to their “exceptional performance and exemplary professional approach to issues pertaining to government, governance and political administration since they came into office, “As a lawyer and administrator, Governor Chime has, through his unprecedented achievements in office, redefined public administration and good governance  at the state level.

He has been able to show that with good vision, clear  conscience, selflessness and the commitment expected of a true professional, real and enduring changes can be brought to the lives of the people of a state, even one as poor as Enugu,” the group said.

The EPF also said Mrs. Nwobodo had applied her professional experience and knowledge as a Chartered Accountant and administrator  to ensure that Governor Chime’s lofty vision for Enugu State was accomplished, even in the face of severe financial challenges.
