Enugu—ALL Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu State, yesterday, said the current wrangling in the State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over the controversial consensus candidacy would boost fortune of the party in 2015.

Speaking through one of its governorship aspirants, Dr. Ifeanyi Asogwa, the party said neither it nor its aspirants were intimidated by the incumbency factor of the ruling PDP led by Governor Sullivan Chime.

According to him, “Do I need to be intimidated? No, I don’t know how they (PDP) made the consensus. The drama is still playing out but God knows it is to our advantage. Head or tail it is to our advantage.

”We, as a party, are going into our primaries and consensus is agreement. If you hear there is consensus in our party, then there is an agreement at least the majority of all of us and we are going to confront them in that election. There is no need to be intimidated because the process of emergence will give us an edge.

”People want radical change from the history of anointing in the state that doesn’t work. If you change the game then you see a better result and the state will be better for it.”

On the acceptability on APC in Enugu State, he said,“This gives us the opportunity of expressing our party. APC is not alien to our people. People misunderstand issues because they get the wrong information. Now, of all major positions in this government under the PDP government, none is in the south east.

”Is it in terms of roads, a drive from Port Harcourt to Enugu will tell you that we are not part of this country, same from Onitsha to Enugu, where then is the federal presence that PDP claims to be giving to us?
