PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has told stakeholders of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State to ensure transparency so that a popular aspirant that can lead the party to victory in the 2015 general elections was fielded.

President Jonathan said: “PDP is not ready to lose any of the South-South states and will not gamble with presenting a candidate that is not popular with the people, regardless of the personalities backing such aspirant.”

The President made these remarks when he received the leadership of Anioma Congress, the socio-political organisation of Delta North, in Abuja.

Anioma Congress, under the leadership of Obi Chike Edozien, presented a list of aspirants to President Jonathan, who told the delegates that PDP would abide by its principle of rotation which was introduced by the founding fathers of the party to ensure equity, justice and fairness.

The President advised all stakeholders in Delta State to harmonise the list of aspirants.
