Delta State Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Ben Ibakpa, has said it was the turn of Delta North senatorial district to produce the next governor of the state, for the sake of equity in the state.
Ibakpa, in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of the state, amidst agitations over which of the three senatorial districts should produce the next governor, said: “The governorship slot must go to the North for the purpose of equity.’’
According to him, the position of the state government and the state chapter of the party was borne out of the fact that Delta Central senatorial district had on two occasions produced governors, while Delta South senatorial district produced the current governor, adding that “It is now the turn of Delta North to produce the governor of the state.”
