The Minister/Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Dr. Tammy Danagogo has expressed satisfaction on the level of rehabilitation of stadium facilities in Abuja.

Dr. Danagogo made the remark during his inspection of stadia facilities across the six geo-political zones.

During the visit which took him round stadium facilities in Abuja, he observed that renovation work on the swimming pool, hockey pitch, indoor halls and the stadium car park were progressing according to schedule.

During the inspection, the Minister saw five (5) fire trucks that were imported for the All African Games in 2003 which had remained unused due to administrative challenges and pledged to have them fixed and distributed across the zones to protect stadia and assist the regular fire service of the federal government.

Two of the trucks have ladders to rescue victims during fire incidents in high rise buildings.  The trucks could also be used as bridges when regular bridges collapse.
