WARRI—NIGERIANS have been called upon to disregard insinuations that the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, has anything to do with the purported $9.3 million discovered in an aircraft with two Nigerians and an Israeli in South Africa.
The call was made by the Delta State Indigenous Newspaper Publishers Association, DINPA, in a release issued at the end of its meeting in Asaba.
In the release by its President, Mr. Femi Odonmeta and Secretary, Mr. Daniel Ekiugbo, the association noted that the dimension the issue had assumed was unwarranted.
According to DINPA, “it is saddening that despite the fact that the company running the jet has owned up and the Federal Government has agreed to the ownership of the money, the advocates of campaign of calumny continue to whip up negative senti-ments in their bid to tarnish Oritsejafor’s reputation.”
