Senior Political Adviser to Delta State Governor and former Commissioner for Education in the state, Chief Ighoyota Amori, has highlighted the importance of Warri South Local Government Area to the politics of the state, insisting that members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the area must remain united because Warri “is where the power belongs.”

The governor’s aide, who is on a political sensitisation tour of the 25 councils in the state in the build-up to the forthcoming October 25, council elections as well as the general polls billed for early 2015, spoke in Warri before a crowd of PDP faithful.

Amori, who noted that there was “no alternative to PDP” in Delta State, said Warri has developed in human capital, educational and infrastructures compared to what it was in 1998 as a result of the James Ibori and Emmanuel Uduaghan administrations.
He added that he was in 100 percent in support of primaries because “imposition has not always helped PDP,” adding that the only way to sustain “development” in the state was “not to allow opposition come to government.”

Transition Committee Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Dr. Augustine Uroye in his remark, said that party faithful in the area turned out enmasse to receive Chief Amori and his entourage because of the importance they attach to consolidating on the party’s strong hold in Warri ahead of the forthcoming polls.
