Presidency sets up C’ttee to monitor activities of pro-Jonathan groups

AS part of moves to check and curtail the activities of all Pro- Jonathan groups presently rooting for President Goodluck Jonathan’s second bid, the presidency disclosed yesterday that it  has set up a committee to do content analysis of all the groups.

According to the presidency, the move was among others designed to monitor their activities.

This was coming on the heels of  activities of one of the groups, which few days ago, incurred the anger of President Goodluck Jonathan and he ordered that the Billboards with the inscription, #Bring back Jonathan be removed.

Addressing Journalists yesterday, Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Prof. Rufai Ahmed Alkali explained that  information gathered by the committee will help his office to put into check the activities of groups campaigning for him

Prof. Alkali who is also the National Coordinator, Goodluck Support Group (GSG) said he had earlier set up  a Screening and Verification Committee of all support groups rooting for the re-election of the president in 2015.
